June is Bustin’ Out all Over!

Can someone please explain where this year has gone? Almost half way through 2013 and thankfully we’ve hardly had time to catch our breath!  What’s even more amazing (apart from some glorious sunshine) is that this month sees our 3rd Birthday!

As well as celebrating our birthday (rude not too!) June is busy with lots of lovely other things that we have planned!

Nicola Anne Designer Day

We are delighted that our most local, very talented, designer Nicola Anne will be joining us on Saturday 22nd June along with her stunning new collection of wedding gowns for 2014 plus some favourites from previous collections.

Dolce

We love having Nicola come into the shop as, not only is she a lovely lady who designs fabulous dresses, but she makes a great cup of tea and brings biscuits!  As always these events are very popular and there are only very limited appointments now available.

Lou Lou Designer Day

Our second Designer Event is being held on Saturday 29th June when we will have in store an extended collection of bridal and bridesmaid dresses from Lou Lou.  With their signature vintage and retro styling it is always exciting to see what new ideas this talented British team have come up with.  Having seen some of their new collection at a recent trade show I don’t think we are going to be disappointed!

The Wedding Singer

One of the many firsts for us this year was being asked to sponsor a show – appropriately ‘The Wedding Singer’ – being staged by Leicester Amateur Operatic Society and we are thrilled to be associated with this talented group.

It’s been so exciting when we’ve been out & about and we see advertising for the production and our name appears (squeals of delight in Highcross Shopping Centre – not at all embarrassing!) The show is on at the Curve Theatre. Leicester from 25th to 29th June and we are really looking forward to going along to see the performance.

Beat it! Cancer!

On Sunday 30th June a ‘The Pink (Confetti) Ladies’ will be taking part in The Race for Life to raise much needed funds in the fight against cancer.  This horrible disease affects so many either personally or their friends and family and we all have our own reasons for taking part.  We are all training hard(!) as our husbands have agreed to greet us with a bottle (or two!) of champagne at the finishing line! We are hoping to raise as much as possible and donations can be made via our just giving page http://www.raceforlifesponsorme.org/pink-confetti

Happy Birthday to us!

It seems like the blink of an eye since we opened Pink Confetti on 18th June 2010 however reflecting on the last 3 years we are astounded by what we’ve achieved and amazed at all the wonderful people we have met.

It’s been a great twelve months as we received top stockists awards from 2 of our suppliers and also The Wedding Industry Awards shortlisted us as one of the top Regional Bridal Boutiques (1 of only 4) in the East Midlands! This award is extra special in that it was voted for by our brides and we were blown away by the feedback received through this process.

To celebrate or 3rd birthday we are asking all customers, old & new, to come and join us for a glass of pink fizz and birthday cake between 15th and 22nd June and as a thank you we are offering 10% off any purchase during our birthday week (a day just isn’t long enough!)

What Next?

This is also a great time for us to start planning for our next twelve months and we have lots of exciting ideas!  Plans are well underway for the relaunch of ‘Pink Confetti Parties’ with lots of lovely new handbags and fashion jewellery plus great benefits for hostesses.

From the autumn onwards we will start to receive our gorgeous new collections from all of our designers there are some amazing gowns and we can’t wait for them to arrive!

However because of this, we are planning our first ever ‘Sale Event’ at the shop to create some much needed space so there will be some real bargains to be had!  The event is on from Thursday 4th to Saturday 6th July – more details to follow!

We have already booked our places at the NEC National Wedding Show in October and both UK Wedding Shows at Excel, London and their Midlands event at Ricoh Arena both of which are in January next year!

Looks like it’s going to be another busy year – Fantastic!!

HIGHS & HIGHER!

The Big (Wet & Windy) Wedding Day Out!

Well our first Pink Confetti foray into organising a large scale wedding fair ‘The BIG Wedding Day Out’ is over.  Apart from it taking place in a marquee during the worst of this April’s weather – monsoon rain and hurricane force winds – overall it appeared to go pretty well!

We were delighted that the majority of exhibitors (around 30) turned up and surprised with the number of bridal parties that braved the elements to come along.   From the exhibitor feedback they enjoyed the atmosphere (little bit ofDunkirkspirit I think) and brides were pleased with the variety of suppliers. You can get details of the exhibitors from our Facebook page ‘The BIG Wedding Day Out’.

I have to say a massive thank you to our models, who were crammed into a small annexe with no heating and still came out smiling to put on a wonderful show!

We are still totting up how much we have actually raised for our two charities – Help for Heroes and Derbyshire, Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance – watch our Pink Confetti Facebook page for an update.

Our 2nd Birthday – getting bigger!

It’s amazing that we are already coming up to our 2nd birthday on June 18th – where does the time go!  We are inviting all customers, old and new, to join us for a week of celebration between Saturday 16th and Saturday 23rd June for cake, pink fizz, prize draw and lots of great offers.

When we chatting about our anniversary coming up we were discussing our plans for the future and the need for more space, as in reality, we outgrew the current shop space 6 months after opening!

We were cheerfully considering a variety of options over a glass of wine (or two) – – the ideas becoming more outrageous as time went on! But by the end of the night we all agreed that we definitely needed a plan and that we loved each other very much, lol!

A couple of days later, and with a greater volume of bangs and crashes from the flat above, I bumped into our neighbour – he was moving out!!  Was this fate lending a hand?

Now a couple of weeks on, we are planning the expansion of Brides by Pink Confetti! Moving onto two floors will give us more space (obviously!) but allow us to extend our range of bridal wear and accessories together with adding a second dressing room to give us greater flexibility.

Just have to wait for planning permission to be approved (about 8 weeks!!) and then work will start in earnest!  We are hoping to complete all the works for the end of August – watch this space for details of progress & the launch party!!

The BIG Wedding Day Out!

Plans are progressing nicely towards our first charity event of 2012.  After two very successful fashion shows over the last couple of years, this year we wanted to do something a little bit different.

Luckily we came across Annie & Stuart of www.boswortheventmarquees.co.uk who have just launched a marquee venue in the beautiful grounds of Bosworth Hall, Husbands Bosworth, near Lutterworth – not the other one!

Never being ones to shy away from a challenge, us at Pink Confetti, together with Carol from www.buddingbouquets.co.uk and Neil from www.neilgreencatering.co.uk we have been working with Stuart and Annie to put on a wedding fair within Leicestershire like no other!

We wanted to create a fun day for all the family (hopefully the weather will be kind!) whilst showcasing the venue and raise money for two charities dear to our hearts – East Midlands Air Ambulance & Help for Heroes.

Fortunately there appears to be a collection of like-minded wedding providers out there as we already have over 40 signed up to attend with a potential 20 further exhibitors this could be one of the largest wedding events around.

We are aiming to have everything there that you could possibly need for your big day from photographers to hog-roasts and from bouncy castles to a chimney-sweep!  As well as great offers from the exhibitors on the day there will be master-classes to help with different areas of wedding preparations and a fashion show (of course!).  All this whilst raising money for 2 great causes – www.dlraa.co.uk & www.helpforheroes.org.uk.

Over the past couple of years we’ve been fortunate enough to meet some wonderful and varied entertainment acts so we’ve also used our charm (!) and asked several of them to come along, so although it might not challenge the V-Festival all our visitors will be thoroughly entertained throughout the day.

At just £3.00 a head or £5.00 a couple its great value and bringing the family won’t cost the earth with children under 14 free and glamorous older people just £1.00 each!  Admission includes a glass of pink fizz, canapés and free entry into the prize draw with some really great prizes to be won!

Details of the event can be found at www.pinkconfetti.co.uk for advance bookings or if you would like to buy any raffle tickets (£2.00 each or 3 for £5.00) contact Leigh on 01455 283311 or pop into the shop!

Watch this space for further details on the event and to see how plans are coming along!
